And that\u2019s hardly surprising, as Alfred became the most famous member of the family.<br \/><br \/>However, it was his two older brothers, Robert and Ludvig Nobel, who first saw the business opportunities in Baku.<br \/><br \/><span class=\"s1\"><b>Why Did the Nobel Brothers Come to Baku?<\/b><\/span><br \/><br \/>Surprisingly, their original interest was not oil, but wood.<br \/><br \/>At the time, Ludvig Nobel managed an arms factory in Izhevsk, Russia.
